Profound review (2026)
Profound is the most complete AI visibility platform for enterprise teams: up to nine engines, prompt-volume data and agents that write and publish content. Since October 2026 brands can only buy it through sales. In public posts, users praise its depth and results at scale, and complain about price, support for smaller accounts and setup.
What Profound does
In Profound's own words, its pricing page now opens with "Meet your AI Marketer: research, write, report, and collaborate with a superintelligent teammate who knows your brand." The modules it lists:
- Answer Engine Insights: how your brand and competitors appear in AI answers, on up to nine engines on Enterprise.
- AI Marketer and Agents: an agent that finds opportunities and deploys sub-agents to do the work, including writing and publishing content, with a human approval step.
- Prompt Volumes: data on what people ask AI engines.
- Agent Analytics: AI crawler and AI-referred traffic, connected to Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, AWS, Vercel, Netlify and more.
- Context Manager, Projects and Profound Sheets: brand knowledge for the agents, shared workspaces, and agents run at scale.
Profound raised a $180M Series D at a $1.8B valuation on September 15, 2026, and says it serves over 1,000 enterprise brands, including Walmart, Figma and MongoDB. (Press release)
What it costs
A free 7-day Trial (50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, from a preset prompt set) and Enterprise at a price set on a sales call. Starter ($99) and Growth ($399) were last listed on September 14, 2026. Every plan and price since 2025.

What users complain about
Grouped by what the posts are about. Where a self-serve alternative addresses the concern, it says how; where none does, there's no answer line.
Price

What helpssupereo, Peec AI, Otterly.AI and SE Visible all publish their prices; supereo starts at $149 a month.

Support and onboarding

“No onboarding assistance for non-enterprise customers.”u/WAGE_SLAVERY on r/DigitalMarketing · Oct 8, 2026 · Read the post
Setup and accuracy
“I got an awful experience with Profound too. It suddenly track unrelevant queries. They told me to wait but nothing fixed.”u/InfiniteCobbler2073 on r/GrowthHacking · Feb 21, 2026 · Read the post
What helpssupereo writes your buyers' questions from your site, and you can edit the questions and competitors after.
“Yes, I tried profound but UX seems too complicated and at that time half of the part was under developement.”u/Plastic_Charge4340 on r/SEO · Jan 30, 2026 · Read the post
“…they do have proprietary data for prompt volumes but I wouldn't rely on it.”u/duberz on r/aeo · Jul 29, 2026 · Read the post
Turning data into work
“All diagnostics, no creation. It tells you what to fix, but doesn't help you create the actual Citation-Ready content AI needs.”u/FeelingRequirement19 on r/DigitalMarketing · Nov 30, 2025 · Read the post
What helpssupereo builds and, on Autopilot, publishes the pages AI is looking for, and tests each change against control questions.
“Product is so so but their pricing model is very strange. Basically you can't generate any volumes of blog posts, you get a couple per month and even if you just play around with the tool they charge you for drafts.”u/Dont-Worry-today on r/ArtificialInteligence · Dec 8, 2025 · Read the post
What helpssupereo's plans are flat per brand per month, and its Autopilot plan ships site fixes and new pages as part of the plan.
Buying it
“…they are incredibly aggressive with their sales process, and then they setup their tool poorly. They try to upsell you on their own agent analytics and credit usage when you can use your own usage through an MCP.”u/Arcayon on r/Agentic_SEO · Oct 14, 2026 · Read the post
What helpssupereo includes its MCP server on the $149 plan, and you buy it online.
“Maybe the product is good. But it's hard to test the product.”u/Dont-Worry-today on r/ArtificialInteligence · Dec 8, 2025 · Read the post
What helpssupereo's audit is free with no card, and both paid plans start with a 7-day trial.
Who Profound is for
A good fit: enterprise brands with a marketing team to act on the data, a budget for an annual contract, and a need for nine engines, prompt-volume data and a security review.
Not a fit: startups, solo founders and small teams who want to start this week at a published price, or who want the changes made and proven rather than recommended. For them, see the ten Profound alternatives, or the self-serve shortlist.
Questions
Is Profound worth it?
For enterprise teams that use its depth, users report strong results. For small teams, the most common complaint is price for what they get.
What do Profound users complain about most?
In the 42 critical or mixed posts about Profound we collected, price came up most (14), then turning the data into work (6), then data accuracy and the lack of a self-serve plan (4 each). That's a sample of public posts, not a survey of users.
Is Profound legit?
Yes. It's a venture-backed company (a $180M Series D in September 2026) with more than 1,000 enterprise customers by its own count.
How we compiled this
We read Profound's pricing page, feature pages and docs on November 8, 2026, and searched Reddit, X, LinkedIn and YouTube for posts about Profound. Quotes are copied exactly and linked; posts by people who say they work for a competitor are labeled or left out. These are individual posts, not a survey.
